Regional Wellbeing Metrics & Report | Community Foundation of Northern Colorado

Leading community-engaged research to make sense of regional wellbeing and inform community priorities

IBE worked with the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado and CSU’s Institute for Research in the Social Sciences (IRISS) to create the 2024 Northern Colorado Intersections report. IBE led community-engaged research, including a series of community workshops, to inform the report. IBE coordinated with partners within CSU and across northern Colorado to bring together diverse community health and wellbeing data and design metrics for understanding regional wellbeing. IBE used a regenerative development and design framework, originally created by the Regenesis Institute for Regenerative Practice, to synthesize the data and highlight intersections between the challenges and opportunities that Northern Colorado communities currently face. The resulting Intersections report provides a view of the region (including all of Larimer and Weld counties) as a whole, living place with a unique identity, challenges, and potential. This framing is helping stakeholders understand the greater potential of their role and contributions to the larger health and wellbeing of the region. The NoCo Foundation will continue to use the framework and process designed by IBE to convene regional organizations in collaborative conversations and to create future reports; over time, stakeholders and the community will understand how aspects of the system as a whole are shifting.
