Facilitating community working groups to develop an equitable climate action implementation plan
In partnership with Lotus Engineering and Sustainability, IBE is leading community engagement and facilitation efforts to inform the Larimer County Climate Smart and Future Ready (CSFR) Implementation Plan. Over the 18-month project timeline, IBE is tasked with facilitating an executive committee, a public engagement and outreach committee, and a series of working groups across four sustainability topical areas. Working group members include representatives from local municipalities and County government agencies, education and academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and businesses. IBE is also coordinating and developing content for a series of educational videos designed to communicate the goals and process of the CSFR initiative and to inspire action from stakeholders across the County.
Project Goals
- Design and deliver working group facilitation that enables co-creation of a climate action plan
- Assure stakeholders’ priorities are included in the plan
- Develop a shared vision of a resilient, healthy future with a focus on equity
- Generate enthusiasm for collective action to lead implementation efforts
