Applied Research
Applied Research
We conduct applied research to help innovators, organizations, and communities gain new insights and grow their ability to make positive impacts.
Sometimes an important idea or undertaking needs understanding and solutions that can only be offered through integrated, applied research. Our longstanding relationships with faculty, researchers, and students across the CSU system allow us to form and lead interdisciplinary research teams focused on health, resiliency, and regeneration. IBE uses evidence-based social science and whole systems frameworks to deliver unique and useful insights, products, and results. Our community-sourced research collaborations engage communities in co-developing research agendas and integrating diverse knowledge and perspectives into tangible outcomes. The results are actionable strategies that support decision-making and positive change, while informing future research initiatives.
Our current and recent research topics include:
- Social networks and research networks
- Integrative processes
- Social and environmental determinants of health
- Occupant comfort and well-being
- Healthy schools and indoor air quality
- Sustainable Regional Systems Research Network
