Regenerative Development

We guide teams to move beyond minimizing harm, toward increasing value and benefit creation.

Teams often feel like they spend a lot of time on sustainability only to make incremental change. What if we shifted our approach and focused more on creating benefit? Through regenerative development practices, we cultivate capacity in people, communities, and natural systems to renew, evolve, and thrive.

Core Services

For nearly 10 years IBE has played an instrumental role in the development of the LENSES (Living Environments in Natural, Social, and Economic Systems) Framework. LENSES provides your team a structured process for regenerative development and design projects.  Through LENSES we help you see and realize the potential for your project to truly benefit and contribute to the places where you live and work.

IBE works with your community coalitions or project team to facilitate team formation, lead inclusive community engagement, capture community vision, and guide your group toward meaningful outcomes. We help you create aligned and energized efforts toward shared vision and identify key leverage points for creating positive systemic changes.

IBE, in partnership with Regenesis Group, offers Story of Place workshops and services for your real estate and community development projects. Story of Place begins with a study of the geologic, natural and human history that serves as a basis for benefit-minded strategic planning and design. From there, we provide ongoing support that builds the lasting capability for your project to increasingly add value and vitality to your community.

"The LENSES workshop was my initial hook into the project. I was completely enamored with the whole day and I left energized. It started the foundation for me and planted the seed for what the project could be."
